2632 - high quality, this nineteenth century glove box in rosewood marquetry with varnished brass nets signed by the great cabinetmaker of the second empire vervelle aîné (1838-1893) in good condition. No cracks or lacks. Slightly curved top and crossbow profile. Hinge and lock signed "vervelle paris" with its key and functional. Finely chiseled brass lock entrance. Lid on hinges, front part with folding. Presence of very few small worm holes (treated) without particular impact attesting to its age. Height 98 mm X 273 mm X 118 mm. Weight 780 g. Careful shipping with quality materials and followed. The vervelle house was founded in 1804 by his grandfather jean-françois taken over by his son alexandre-louis (1800-1856) and finally ainé with, in 1840, nearly a hundred workers. Their specialty was small furniture, the most diverse boxes and boxes, tapestries (alexandre-louis' first profession), fancy furniture, wedding baskets, liquor cellars, kits and travel kits. The vervelle house was firmly established by its manufacture and reputation for high quality objects.
