Rare antique French Oyster Plate in Majolica, faïence rustic Provençal

Oyster plate in grey, brown and yellow majolica ceramic, example of the french faience rustic from provence, maker unknown, circa 1880. It has capacity for 6 oysters and a space for the lemon in the middle. A central sauce well modeled as three lemons, surrounded by six grey scallop shell shaped wells. Detailed mold work and lovely soft eatercolour style glazing, in the palissy style. Eating oysters is a pleasure, but doing it in one of these dishes is a real "plaisir", it is bringing the art de table to your home. The price is for one plate. It's in very good condition. It measures 23.5 cm in diameter and 3 cm high.
