Charles W. Willis "The card game"
- H45 x W55

Description
A salon scene of the early stages of 19th century. Dominated is the group by the woman in the red chair. Accompanied by two gentlemen to her left and right. But the gallantry does not catch her attention. Seems she is focussed to win and awaits the play of the gentleman who is in thoughts. Which lovley and lively scene. Charles w. Willis is an british artist who lived from 1878 till 1963. He was becoming famous in the 1930th mainly due to his portraits of king george V and george vi, which were published in countless magazines in the commonwealth. He liked to paint scenes from the past of the upper class and show human behaviour and it´s emotional expressions.
