Frame called "Montparnasse" in wood scxulpté and patinated around 1950
- H54 x W46 x D5
- wood
- grey
Description
This pretty portrait frame has been particularly well preserved thanks to the strips of paper surrounded by the artist who bought it. It was never used and was found in its original state of manufacture, which explains the freshness of its patina. Louis-philippe style by its doucine profile, its patina of a dove gray brings out by contrast the torus gilded with fine gold and burnished with agate stone at the top of the molding. This elegant frame intended for the paintings of the "school of paris" is typically french and will be able to reframe a work of these many artists whose creativity made the fame of the capital in the great hours of montparnasse. ( ( (its standard format of 38cmx46cm corresponds to an 8 f for connoisseurs!) a black and white photo from "harcourt"... Or not! Will also be of the best effect.
