Beautiful old 20th century salt, pickle or tobacco pot, in probably beauvais stoneware, brown glossy varnish, beige enameled interior. Cylindrical in shape, bottom with lid and 2 handles in relief depicting the faces of old bearded men wearing turbans, relief of dots edging all over the body of the box and smooth lid. 8cm in height with lid, 12cm in diameter for the body (lid 13cm). Good general condition but some traces of time and use, notably some small chips on the rim of the pot (relatively discreet when closed but some visible) wear also on the rim of the lid. Some wear on the body, small gaps in varnish on the edges of the reliefs/handles, the rest of the body is relatively untouched. Manufacturing defects, cooking cracks at the mouths on the 2 handles, a fairly significant varnish defect on the lid. 800-900gr approximately.
