Description
This wonderful large enameled ceramic vase demonstrates great mastery, both in the work of the color of the enamelling in blue and green tones and in that of the decorative motifs, very fine, with beautiful reliefs, which form friezes all around the vase. For me, there is no doubt that we can attribute this vase to Aldo Londi for the Bitossi Ceramiche house in the 60s or 70s: these patterns and these colors, although different from those of the Rimini Blu collection which is the collection the most famous created by Aldo Londi for Bitossi, appear on several vases formally attributed to Londi. The same goes for the turquoise blue enameling speckled with off-white in the neck of the vase and the black streaks under its base. This vase has not survived the decades without incident, it should be adopted with its defects, that is to say with 5 chips or chips on the enamel (two on the high rim, 2 on the body and one on the frieze the lowest) but which fortunately are located on the same portion (1/4 of the turn), which still allows this vase to be displayed without these defects being too visible! Or, consider a small restoration by a professional, and this vase well deserves it. It measures 25.5 cm in height, approximately 17 cm in diameter at the belly and 11 cm in diameter at the opening.
