Beautiful and comfortable bucket seat - model 369 - designed for walter knoll in 1956. This elegant armchair is upholstered with a red furniture fabric. The armchair has chrome legs and plastic caps. Playful 50s design with soft, organic shapes combined with the cuddly texture of the 70s. A successful mix. The walter knoll chair was designed by the walter knoll team in 1956. At that time, the vast majority of the german furniture industry consisted of classic, solid furniture with a straightforward design. But walter knoll ushered in a new era with this soft and organically shaped chair. Around the same time, charles and ray eames introduced their famous eames plastic chair, just like the 369 armchair, a modern shell chair. In other words, the era of modern post-war furniture design had arrived. This was made possible, among other things, by the invention of plastic, which made it possible to experiment with new shapes and production techniques. Although the design of this armchair was innovative, the design was not a total break with the past. For example, influences from bauhaus, avant-garde and the scandinavian design tradition can clearly be found in the armchair.
