Description
This 1970s glass candleholder was designed by uno westerberg for pukeberg, sweden. The thick glass panel shows a relief in the background representing stylized flower design. The geometry of this piece makes it a fantastic example of brutalism, resembling a sculpted ice cube. It is designed for tea candles. In good vintage condition, with two minuscule chips (as shown in the last photo). Swedish glass manufacturer pukeberg was founded in 1871 to produce utilitarian glass items. That changed in the 1930s, when the firm started producing decorative glass items. Many designers worked for the company, including uno westerberg, goran and ann warff, eva englund and erik höglund. Width 12.7 cm; depth 7.6 cm; height 15.2 cm.
