Art Deco Pedestal Table in Bakelite and Cast Iron by Louis Vuitton for REX Paris

Rare small so-called bistro table made up of a circular burgundy bakelite top stamped rex and a cast iron foot bearing the logo of the Louis Vuitton Paris house. French house of luxury leather goods since 1851, Louis Vuitton joined forces with the Rex company to produce quality pedestal tables in a limited quantity in the 1930s. The round Bakelite top in a deep and nuanced red is supported by a triangular section cast iron barrel. Three wide stepped legs bring a definitive art deco style to this unique table. Period: 1930.
