Large plateau Obernai Sarreguemines U&Cie

Very beautiful and large rectangular earthenware tray from the french factory of sarreguemines, of the famous obernai model, designed by the alsatian henri loux. Very rare and old model with flowers and knots in friezes on the wing and central motif "festive procession" (messtizug) representing musicians, young men and young women in traditional alsatian costumes on parade and a young man juggling with bottles of wine. Marked on the reverse: obernai u&cie sarreguemines, in a flowered cartouche. This mark was used from 1907 to 1918 and therefore allows us to date the manufacture of the object as accurately as possible. The tray measures 47.5 cm in length and 28.5 cm in width, it is in very good condition despite some slight traces of use and a defect in the original enamelling. These very small traces do not affect the aesthetics of the object in any way and can easily be forgiven given its great age! Careful packaging and shipping.
