Description
Large and rare diploma written in latin on parchment, pre-printed and filled in ink from the neapolitan university of study: doctor's diploma - specialist in surgery - awarded to nicolaï g. D'altamura province of sicily, stamps and signatures of the rector, the dean etc of the royal university of naples april 1835 written and awarded in the name of ferdinand II of the kingdom of sicily and jerusalem, commander of the castle of parma, hereditary grand prince of hetruria etc... In lower border, handwritten mention of the validation of the diploma by france in 1848, stamp of the prefect of bouches du rhône in marseille. Format 54 X 64cm, folded in 2, beautiful engravings all around representing scientific and medical symbols. No holes or tears, looks great to frame. Packaged weight folded 250g notes: ferdinand II was king of the two sicilies from 1830 to his death in 1859. The university of naples, founded in 1224, is the oldest in the world. The qualified doctor comes from altamura in puglia near bari.
