Old patinated painted wooden box

The box is very healthy, in very good condition, no breakage, no shortages. It consists of white wooden planks 1 cm thick assembled. The boards were nailed. The wood is dry, and has no trace of wood-boring insects, or other mold-like damage, for example. The box opens and closes thanks to two hinges that are in good condition. The box can be closed with two small hooks that come to lodge in small round pitons. It is also equipped with a folding tin handle, which makes it easy to take out when stored, for example on a shelf. The box has retained its original color, a beautiful dark red, which has patinated over time, which gives it a crazy charm. It has been waxed outside with natural beeswax, in order to fix this pretty patina, and for maintenance, it will be enough to rub it from time to time with a soft cloth. The inside of the box was left raw, the wood having some roughness. Beautiful object of art-populaire, ingenious work of some skilled handyman, dating from the first half of the twentieth century.
