It seems to me that this charming wicker basket was originally intended to transport a cat. But it has lived, and given its condition, I would rather recommend it today for purely decorative use, in a store window for example, or as a decorative element for a film or in an amusement park (yes, yes, I have already sold items for this use! If you want to use it for storage purposes, it would be a good idea to make some repairs or reinforcements to prevent new wicker strands from “spinning”. The bottom and the lid are linked around the edges by metal wires (not original I imagine) with wicker reinforcement underneath. It probably dates from the first half of the 20th century. It is in its original state, I have not cleaned it, just dusted it quickly so that it retains its patina of time. It has multiple signs of its age and intensive use: the handle still holds but no longer very strongly, numerous damaged or missing strands, particularly on the sides of the lid, screw holes (not active it seems to me). Seems). It measures 40 cm by 30 cm for a height of 27 cm.
