Description
Weight buckets or piles of Charlemagne of Nuremberg. Very rare bucket weights, or (charlemagne pile), in bronze, from the 18th century, made in France... The body and the 5 largest weights are very well hallmarked, but I have no information on these punches (perhaps you could inform me) The totality is 495 gr, because the last weight is missing (the two smallest seem later.) These six small weights in the shape of buckets fitting into each other have for name “charlemagne pile” because it is charlemagne who, it is said, tried to standardize the units and created a standard of weight.
