Jérôme massier and pierre perret, vallauris circa 1900. Complete in glazed ceramic, torso column and pot cover. Turquoise blue tones gradient to brown/red. Pot cover decorated with twisted gadroons, with two handles. Beautiful general condition despite several gaps in the enamel and two cracks on the edge of the pot cover (see photos) Stamp "j.massier fils – vallauris / pierre perret" The massiers (jérôme, clément, delphin, cédric) are a dynasty of ceramists that goes back beyond the french revolution and played a key role in the revival of vallauris ceramics. Jérôme massier 1850 – 1926. Pierre perret: he worked in vallauris with clément massier from 1895, then with jérôme massier whose manufacture he acquired in 1898. Total height: 115 cm. Column height: 68 cm. Inside diameter of the pot cover: 25 cm.
