Unique piece of art, a 3d-neon table sculpture by the dutch artist jozef van der horst made in 1986. Signed underneath the table top by the artist, 'party table 1986'. Clearly inspired by the memphis movement. He made a few of these tables, but all different. There's only one like this. This art work is in excellent condition. Jozef van der horst (voorburg, may 30, 1946) is a dutch artist who lives and works in the hague. From 1963 to 1969 he studied graphic design at the royal academy of art in the hague. Van der horst makes plastics and kinetic objects. In addition to spatial works, he also makes wall objects, paintings and drawings. Characteristic of his style are geometric shapes, bright colors and light. The materials used vary greatly. Neon predominates in combination with wood, formica, perspex, lead, gold leaf, stainless steel, marble, platinum and ceramics. Since 1972, his work has been shown in various galleries and museums. In addition, he also regularly carries out assignments for municipalities such as the hague (light object gemeentemuseum den haag) and leeuwarden (sculpture porta futura, neighborhood park camminghaburen, leeuwarden). Centrum kunstlicht in de kunst in eindhoven has work in its collection and the municipality of leeuwarden has work in public space.
