Old bovine horn vanity box. Object very popular with ladies in the years 1900-1910 and which served as a ball book with a few sheets and something to write. Its decoration is made of inlays of mother-of-pearl, silver metal and copper forming a flowery stem of a very good quality of execution. It is engraved with an inscription: fourvière. The object can be located around 1900-1910 or even 1920 time of the development of feminine and refined objects. This pretty vanity box to be a collector's item of horn objects. I think it is not a smoker's object or a cigarette case because the box is too small and too narrow to accommodate cigarettes. But I do not exclude the use for fine cigarettes. A very beautiful patina of time with some wear of use given the age of this small box in particular it lacks the small rubbers inside that held the small block of paper. We also distinguish on a photo a slightly dehorned corner but no one will blame him. This pretty box will delight us with its elegance and finesse of metalwork. Her honorable age allows me to say that her condition is good in view of the years she has behind her! This object is old and necessarily includes experience and history... Look at the photos, they totally complete the description. Materials: bovine horn, mother-of-pearl, metals. Closed dimensions: +/- 2.5 cm X 5.4 cm X 8.4 cm // 0.78" X 1.96" X 3.14" National and international sending in followed letter. Neat packaging.
