Large operating lamp, BBT, circa 1950 vintage floor lamp, loft

For industrial loft lighting, adjustable floor lamp, with a surprising design. Lamp, floor lamp, initially intended for medical use in the 1950s, it is an ideal lamp for working, drawing, cooking... This floor lamp diffuses light without shadow, it can be oriented in all directions and pivot on an axis at variable height it can be moved easily, despite its weight because under the heavy solid cast iron base, it is supported by four sturdy casters. Cast iron, lacquered metal, chrome tubes, mirrors and glass. Bears a manufacturer's plate on the edge of the reflector: "bbt the patented operating light sgdg paris, barber, bernard, & turenne" (see details below) Functional electrification at 220 volts. Very good used condition, slightly oxidized chrome, some minimal traces of friction, deflector previously repainted. Maximum height 237 and minimum 120 - reflector diameter 47 cm - thickness 10 cm. Bbt (berbier benard et tudenne) Founded in 1862 by frédéric barber and stanislas fenestre under the name "barbier et fenestre", it evolved into f. Barbier et cie (1887-1893), f. Barbier et cie successors (1888), then barber and bénard in 1889 to adopt its definitive name of barber, bénard et turenne, or bbt, at the beginning of the 20th century. Initially specializing in the manufacture of lighthouse lenses according to fresnel models, it subsequently diversified to provide all the equipment necessary for maritime signaling establishments.
