Gobanese finds, decorative art flea market offers for sale: very pretty coffee service, for 10 people, in fine porcelain with floral decoration and silver edging. From the art deco period, 1930 period, it is signed on the reverse of each piece with the brand "uml france". Composed as follows: 1 coffee maker, 1 milk jug, 1 covered sugar bowl, 10 cups and 10 saucers. Typical in shape for an art deco model, its originality comes from the use of liserai silvering instead of gilding. This gives it a different charm, and makes this service more rare and atypical compared to models with golden edging. Of very high quality, the porcelain is extremely fine, allowing light to pass through transparently, a guarantee of high quality and extreme mastery of the art of porcelain. Discreet decoration of flowers, not overloading the service. The signature “uml france” means: union marc larchevêque france. Marc larchevêque: born in vierzon in 1871, graduated from high school in 1887, at the age of 20 in 1891 he took over the factory of his father, who had died a few years earlier. A genius inventor and chemist, he created porcelain manufacturing techniques that made him famous. In 1921 he entrusted the reins of his factory to his son, from whom the uml signature for union would emerge. The vierzon factory prospered from the end of the 19th century to the end of the 20th century, when in 1978 its doors closed definitively. Condition: very good condition. Total weight: 2kg.
