His masters were Harpignies, Yon and Edmond Petitjean. He exhibited landscapes at the Salon de Nancy between 1880 ("Le chemin du moulin à Consenvoye" purchased by the SLAA) and at least 1924: "les Mortes de Tonnoy-sur-Moselle" (1882) - Une mare (1884) - Les Near ripe, Dombasle overcast weather, In the Prairie at Essey, Around Nancy (1886) - Meuse landscape, the Meuse at Charleville in 1907, etc... We know that Emile FRIANT had his portrait exhibited at the Paris Salon of 1883 At the Paris Salon of French Artists in 1914, he exhibited an oil on canvas "Sur la Meuse". In 1920, he resided in Paris. He appeared at the Salon de Remiremont with a View of Pierre-la-Treiche and Rivière de Meuse in particular. The artist was particularly fond of river banks (Meurthe - Moselle - Meuse). He died in Verdun in September 1937.
