Large jug, old "plongeon", yellow glazed terracotta, popular art

Large and rare jug or dip from the 19th century, yellow glazed terracotta. In the south of france, the jug was immersed in wells to fill it with fresh water. Incised initials "sf" and a written but illegible love word or phrase that makes the piece unique. A piece of cork remained trapped inside.
