Torii stool

Torii-bensen stool. Ordered from Voltex in 2023 and still in the original packaging. Absolutely new product. The torii stool is a complement to the torii chair collection. Just like the chair, the design is simple yet sophisticated and is characterized by its characteristic arched back. The name torii comes from the wooden entrance arches characteristic of Shinto shrines in Japan. This pattern perfectly describes the distinct proportions of the stools and the traditional joinery, as well as the feeling of harmony and calm inherent in the design which is beautifully resolved. Torii is constructed using traditional exposed mortise and tenon joinery for the legs which is strong and expresses the honest intent of the design. The arched back is connected to each rear leg using two long steel dowels and glue. This ensures that this critical joint will not break or crack, while keeping the material thin and lightweight. The low-content water-based polyurethane finish gives the wood a natural, open-grain look that is smooth to the touch and durable. A solid aluminum slide protects the wooden structure. Features.
