Description
Rare ancient Scandinavian hunting trophy from the ryget forest in Denmark, and dated July 13, 1935. The origin and date of the capture and a signature, E.Buchwald, were traced in black ink on the trophy itself. The base is made of solid turned wood, rather dark varnish, and also features annotations on the back, which probably had to correspond to a museum inventory, or cabinet of curiosities. An original closed round piton screwed onto the base on the lapel allows the trophy to be hung on the wall. Note a small old repair at the base of the piton, two small nails have been added to strengthen the base. The trophy is in very good condition.
