Leather-covered reading light by Jacques Adnet, custom-made lampshade in beige cotton and silk. Jacques Adnet (1900-1984) was a French architect, decorator and designer. He began his career working for the Compagnie des Arts Français, a company specializing in the production of high-quality furniture. In the 1930s he designed modernist furniture using industrial materials such as metal, glass and leather. He became famous for his work in the 1950s, when he created interiors for luxury hotels, ocean liners and government offices.
