Description
Old pastel painting representing a superbly crafted portrait of a man signed by the hand of Gaston Edouard Guédy (very well referenced artist, sales record of more than 88,000 euros, source artprice). Good state of conservation. The frame is offered with (wear and lack of edges, everything is visible in the photos) Dimensions: 34 / 42 cm, with frame: 40.5 / 48.5 cm. Gaston Édouard Joseph Guedy was a student of Jean-Léon Gérôme, Albert Maignan, and Jean-Baptiste Duffaud, he exhibited at the salon from 1895. He became a member of the Society of French Artists in 1897. He was awarded the an honorable mention in 1901, a third class medal in 1906 and a second class medal in 1908, he was then classified out of competition.
