Storage box stool, step

This is a piece of furniture that will find many uses: a stool or step stool, it will also serve as a storage chest and can be used as an end table, a bedside table, a plant holder or even a coffee table. Entirely made of solid, hard and dense wood, it is very very solid, a small elephant could stand on it! It is very heavy, probably a dozen kilos, so very stable, stability increased by its trapezoidal shape. I think it is a piece of furniture made by an amateur but gifted craftsman, for family use and therefore perfectly suited to the intended function. Another of its advantages is that the hinge is strong enough so that the lid, once opened, stands vertically on its own. Be careful not to get your fingers caught because the lid is also heavy! I cleaned it carefully (sponge wash), so the remaining stains and marks will not come off. For the moment I offer it to you as is, with its aging white paint (but which does not peel), so you can use it as is or repaint it to your liking. But in a few weeks, it will pass through my workshop, and come back with the colors of my choice this time and not at the same price; ). It probably dates from the 60s to the 80s, it is difficult to be certain about this type of “homemade” furniture. As I said before, it is still very solid, but does not hide some signs of its age: aging paint with small gaps, marks and various stains and a loss on an upright inside, I think it is a knot in the wood that has “jumped” or was even absent when the piece of furniture was manufactured. It also has a dozen beetle holes inside, not active, but which I still treated out of conscience, by injecting household vinegar (rather than a chemical insecticide). It measures 40 cm in height, the seat measures 39 cm by 38 cm, the base measures 50 cm by 35 cm.
