Magnificent and extremely rare solid oak sideboard attributed to the famous french sculptor and cabinetmaker joseph savina around 1950. Joseph savina, based in tréguier in brittany, collaborated on numerous projects with his friend le corbusier and accompanied the modernist movement of the 1950s by reinterpreting furniture celtic inspiring brutalism. This sideboard with 2 independent doors (locks replaced), 2 1/2 removable shelves and 2 interior drawers is emblematic of his work. Note the superb full-height front legs in fluted columns, the pretty sculptural work on the doors as well as the low side plinths reminiscent of the top. Width 192 cm, depth 52 cm, height 97 cm. In excellent condition (we note a few insect holes on the bottom which have been treated), ultra quality, this sideboard will bring the touch of exclusivity to your decor, in a living room or dining room.
