Description
Period: ca. 1920 and recently redone. This two-level square art deco table has been completely redesigned with a geometric marquetry design. It is a unique piece of décor. Both levels are the same size; they are joined by slat-shaped feet with rounded shoulders that protrude beyond the corners. Both levels have been modernized with a mahogany and beech marquetry design in which squares and rectangles have been alternately laid in different directions; this design allows the wood to catch light from all angles. The trays were finished with a glossy mirror varnish. The feet and edges of the table were painted with a glossy black varnish laccal. State: Very well. It is an old table that has been restored and refurbished to give it a second chance and save it from the shredding (it was in a terrible condition). She had minor surface repairs, was sandblasted, painted, plated and varnished by myself. One of the feet is slightly croy; I tried to photograph it but it is barely visible (see photo). On one of the feet at the back there is a small corner that is missing. There are some inequalities in places under the paint layer (see photo); it is after all an old table. Please see the photos as they form the best status ratio. Size: See photo.
