This iconic mado-style buffet from the 1950s has been completely restored inside and out and required many hours of work. In fact, it was necessary to reconstruct several shelves as well as the bottom of the niche damaged by time; transform the closing system of the lower doors which no longer worked and change two loose handles. The original fittings have been repainted with a golden hue for more harmony. The entire piece of furniture was painted with chalk paint, chalk paint from the Annie Sloan brand, "Chicago Grey" color, which can be compared to a linen color. We then find a very soft green, the “chateau gray” shade, on a few doors, with even a black wax on one of them to add relief; the “scandinavian pink” color combined with the “athenian black” color and the original wood just stripped on the rest of the doors. Everything was protected with a colorless wax and a matt colorless varnish on the raw wood. Inside, we find floral wallpaper at the top of the furniture and white imitation wood vinyl paper on the bottom of the furniture. The “magnolia upcycling” brass plaque affixed to the piece of furniture certifies the unique piece. This light and functional sideboard will easily find its place in a kitchen or living room thanks to its numerous storage surfaces.
