Old bread basket, straw basket

Old baker's bread basket, made of rye straw. This type of basket allowed bread dough to rise before baking. The pieces of dough were placed in these woven straw baskets, the bottom was protected by a fabric. Large in size 57x26xh14 cm, it can today be used as a fruit basket, for bread, or as a wall decoration...very good general condition beautiful object of popular art.
