Description
Rare pitcher vase in black enamelled earthenware, white interior. Pottery pol chambost, numbered 2038 bis. 50s. Signature engraved under the base. Very good condition. Height 27cm. Diameter 10cm at the neck, 9.5cm at the foot. About... Pol chambost (1906–1983) Pol chambost, a sculptor by training, chose earth as a plastic expression from the 1930s to the 1980s. A parisian ceramist, he explores multiple facets of creation, from the single object to the small series. As such, he is one of the spearheads of the chambre syndicale des céramistes d'art de france. The curvilinear flights of his ceramics with sensual visions, daring but also traditional, reveal the passion of an artist for beautiful, useful and decorative objects.
