Sandstone handle pot

Pretty and old sandstone handle pot with brown varnish on the outside and white grey enamelling on the inside. It was made in an artisanal way, we see it in particular to the small "defects" of origin, the interior enamelling is not uniform, the handle is a little crooked and has a small mark under the brown varnish, and also to the very pretty mark of the thumb of the one who laid the handle! The number 4 was buffered hollow in the sandstone under the pot. It was used for food preservation. It can still keep food because its interior enamel is in good condition, but being heavy and stable, it would also make a beautiful decorative pot in the kitchen to store wooden spoons, spatulas and other utensils, or as a pocket empty or green plant pot. Apart from the original "defects", it is in very good condition, neither missing, nor shine, nor crack, just spots (mainly under the base) that make its patina and testify to its age. It measures 16 cm in diameter, 21 cm in width including the handle, 14.5 cm in height and weighs just over 1.5 kg.
