Set of 2 old crystal flutes engraved with acid - guilloché decoration Portieux? Pantogravure

This superb pair of champagne flutes is made of crystal with guilloche decoration engraved with acid. These glasses of very good quality most likely come from the manufacture of portieux. This guilloché model can be found in the 1916 and 1933 catalogue under the reference 116. Baccarat and saint-louis also made beautiful models in pantogravure. The technique: the glass was coated with a wax and the decoration is drawn with a needle in pantogravure in wax, then the glass is immersed in an acid bath that attacks the crystal bare. It is a stemmed glass with a short leg offering an elegant drink engraved with the needle of guilloche scrolls. In good condition, they measure 13.5 cm high X 5 cm in diameter.
