Walnut bilboquet game handcrafted in the 80s. The bilboquet is a game of skill composed of a rod often made of wood connected by a cord to a ball pierced with one or more holes of a diameter adjusted to the stem. Its french name comes from bil le bocquet which designates the tip of a javelin. It is present in many cultures and eras under different names and its origin is very old. The king of france henry III launched the fashion of the bilboquet during his reign (1574-1589). He loved to play it during his walks surrounded by his cuties. It is thanks to him that the game of the bilboquet became fashionable. The game consists of a movement of skill, using only one hand, to throw the ball held by the string so that it falls on the rod and slips on alone. Incidentally, the object, which can be decorated, in precious wood or ivory, is also a showcase trinket1. This one has traces on the ball due to the "missed", and yes because it is a game of skill that can be very taking the winter evenings spent with friends, the rest of the game is in very good condition, it has beautiful colors which makes it an article also decorative. Height 29 cm. Width 10 cm. Weight 0, 520 kg.
