Large portico clock in white marble and chiseled and gilded bronze decorated with winged sphinxes. Pilaster studs decorated with egyptian terms. The white enamelled dial has roman numerals, surmounted by an eagle in gilded chiseled bronze. The whole resting on a black marble terrace finished by spinning top legs decorated with stylized palmettes. The 2 porticoes are caryatids to egyptian women. Very beautiful draped under the movement.2 winged sphinges in bronze brown patina on the top terrace and to finish an eagle slaying a snake on a rock. The gilding and carving are of very good quality with matte and shiny gilding. Wire movement. Empire period, early nineteenth century, around 1805. This clock has been revised, cleaned disassembled, it is in perfect working order. Dimensions: 63 X 43 X 11 cm. A similar model is reproduced in the tardy volume II page 183 (see photo).
