Baca bowl in danish glazed earthenware royal copenhagen design by nils thorsson. Dimensions height: 3.5 cm width: 17 cm / 17 cm. Nils Thorsson for Royal Copenhagen Baca bowl in glazed alumina earthenware, abstract design, circa 1960s magnificent pieces of high standard Danish craftsmanship signed and numbered Nils Thorsson (1898-1975) first appeared as artist when he exhibited in 1925 a series of vases (the autumn series) which were rewarded with a gold medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris. From 1930 he became artistic director of the Aluminia Fiance Factory, and from 1949 he was artistic supervisor of the stoneware department of the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Factory. Thorsson's works are represented at the Museum of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, the Royal Institute of Technology, the Porcelain Factory Museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the National Museum in Stockholm and the Ceramics Museum from faenza.
