Description
Magnificent imari saucer/cup hexagonal shape, produced in the historic province of satsuma in southern japan by the seizan gama company. It represents a subgenre of traditional painting kacho-ga or kacho-e which means "image of birds and flowers" The center is finely decorated with a pair of peacocks sitting on a plum tree surrounded by peonies and chrysanthemums.
