Pfurtscheller zoological map poster

Large-scale wall poster of a mite. Lithograph on 2 sheets of paper, mounted on canvas and plasticized. Folds and discoloration, patched cracks in the top center, slightly cropped at the top, protection tape on the edges, but overall quite good condition considering its age and use. Author and illustrator paul pfurtscheller was a professor. (1855-1927) he produced a series of 39 "zoologische wandtafeln" (zoological wall plates) to be used for higher educational purposes. Although he was a modest high school teacher by training he gained recognition by the scientific community around the world for this remarkable work. Large dimensions 130x135cms.
