Mid-century modular shelving system wall unit by Poul Cadovius for Cado, Denmark 1960s

Extremely functional mid-century modular wall unit in teak designed in the 1960s by Poul Cadovius, the father of world's first wall-mounted shelving systems characterized by its flexibility and space-saving qualities and made by his Company Cado. Presented wall unit features minimalist design, brilliant carpentry and attention to detail, especially visible in the nicely integrated handles and beautifully woven front of one of the cabinets.  The set includes one spacious cabinet with sliding doors and two inner shelves; one display cabinet with sandblasted gold royal-like pattern on glass; two cabinets with drop-front doors, from which one can serve as a bar cabinet and the other one as secretaire; a neat console with two elegant drawers and storage cavities, and eleven shelves of varying depth.  This piece of furniture will elegantly fill an entire wall, providing plenty of space to store and display books and decorations. At the same time, thanks to the large spaces between the components and aesthetically pleasing yet sturdy mounting system, it does not give the impression of being overwhelmed.  One of the cabinets can serve as a hidden desk. With its inner shelf for documents, laptop and accessories is an excellent alternative to a traditional desk and is ideal for creating discreet home office space in your living room. This shelving system is entirely modular, all the parts can be interchanged and set up upon one’s will, using an easy system with brass hangers and wooden supports inserted into solid wood rails.
