Painting on panel representing the banks of the seine entitled "bel air" signed eugène trigoulet (1864-1910) dated 1896 berck school format 36x26 berck-sur-mer museum student of jean-léon gérôme, albert maignan and henry lévy, eugène trigoulet regularly presented his works at the salon des artistes français where he was admitted in 1889 as well as at the salon d'automne in the 1900s. He won the second grand prix de rome in 1892, a period where he presented paintings with very academic subjects such as job and his friends (musée de saint-dizier) and sanson turning the millstone (location unknown). A drawing teacher at the art workshops of the city of paris since the end of the 1880s, he brought back views of italy, spain, bruges and algeria which would have him admitted to the salon of french orientalist painters. The quality of his graphic expression earned him, in 1898, one of the "masters of the print" (l'estampe moderne) and he even illustrated les naufragés de la djumna by emilio salgari for charles delagrave in 1902. The almost -all of the work of his last 12 years relates to berck where he settled on rue du phare. The musée d'orsay holds a work by this painter, including from the rothschild family.
