70s Tobia & Afra Scarpa ‘Mix’ leather swivel chair for Molteni

‘mix’ is a family of easy chairs designed for executive offices, workspaces, conference rooms and waiting areas. It features a revolutionary system for connecting the body of the seat and the supportive frame. Two pieces in die-cast aluminium (heavy) alloy are joined using a metal plate, which has also been die cast. The outcome is a gondola-style element that hooks onto the sides of the seat. The sturdy mix chair can be disassembled and its seat follows body movements to ensure complete comfort. So at the frame of each mix chair it is a choice to mount armrests or leave them behind. This mix chair is without armrests and is slides over the floor and is able to swivel. Good condition consistent with age and use.
