Hand signed color litograph by the outstanding Swedish surrealist painter, graphic artist and designer Max Walter Svanberg (1912-1994). Handwritten and numbered by Svanberg at the bottom. In the original cover. Max Walter Svanberg (born February 21, 1912, died May 28, 1994) - an outstanding Swedish surrealist painter, illustrator and designer. His most common motifs were female bodies combined with elements of flora and fauna. In 1948, Svanberg founded the Swedish art group Imaginisterna, but left shortly thereafter. In 1950, he published an album with lithographs. In 1953 he was invited to the Paris Surrealist group led by André Breton. Svanberg exhibited at the Galerie de l'Etoile Scellee in 1955. In 1958, he illustrated the publication of Arthur Rimbaud's Illumination. In 1965 he was awarded the Prince Eugen Medal for painting in 1965. Max Walter Svanberg, like few other Swedish artists, consistently explores the surreal trend of contemporary art. French art historian and art critic Jacques Lassaigne noted that Svanberg represents "the richest stage in the development of surrealism."
