Description
Bronze basin mordored in honor of the sculptor pierre d'union on the part of the students of the school of drawing and modeling of ixelles. From brussels (belgium), dating from the end of the 19th century. Very particular décor, very animalistic with winged roaring tigers, lion heads, lizards. Plaque with the following inscriptions: "to pierre d'union. Students of the school of drawing & modeling of ixelles. Remembrance of recognition. 1863 - 1888" Pierre d'union (or dunion) (10 september 1827 – 28 september 1888) was a belgian sculptor, professor at the school of drawing and modeling of ixelles and also a municipal councillor of the municipality of uccle. Size: Height: 34 cm. Width: 30 cm. Depth: 23 cm. Heavy! The wash bag is in very good condition, to mention a foot has been redone (see photos) and it will be delivered in a suitable packaging.
