Decorative clock in Louis XIV style gold

Magnificent gilded brass clock in the manner of louis 14 style bronzes. The dial has white enamel reserves in which the hours are indicated in roman numerals. Under the dial is a grotesque head. The bronze is richly carved with shells, volutes and counter-volutes. The clock rests on 5 feet in the shape of leaves. The two side feet are shaped like lion's feet.
