Description
Rare reissue of image d'épinal "fly fishing" produced by olivier claudon for imagerie d'épinal and acquired on site in epinal in the 2000s. Olivier claudon is one of the 9 artists who contributed to "dusting off" this institution which is more than 200 years old. "it was in 1796 that jean-charles pellerin created the imagerie d'epinal. He developed in his printing house an art that is still unique in the world today: the images d'epinal. Playing cards, napoleonic images, fables, riddles, nursery rhymes, professions, fauna, flora, cut-out theaters, caricatures, etc. After more than two centuries of popular images peddled, imagerie d'epinal perpetuates tradition and adapts to the modernity of this 21st century.".
