Very old and beautiful color lithograph of butterflies. Illustration of heterocera (heterocera in latin), including the nana, of the suborder noctuae. This plate is an original from 1887. It is not a copy but an engraving of more than 130 years! Size: 28 X 21 cm. A detailed and realistic work from a specialized book; with about thirty different species illustrated. The condition of the engraving is very good: edges just a little worn, dirty or stained. Once framed, it will no longer be seen and will give a beautiful vintage effect. His entomology collections, butterfly are held at the natural history museum in london and the national museum of natural history in washington.
