The picture takes us right into an early, still sunny evening in the laguna of venice. Fishermen load of their catch and prepare the boats. Seems it was a good catch, one fisherman is busy with an heavy net. In the background you can see san marco. Light and bright colours give us the feeling of italy. Hermann schmidtmann the younger (1896 - 1976) was an german imprssionist. His ouevre is divided in two categories.
