Description
Magnificent plates in purple monochrome from the CM & S (Charles Meigh & Sons) factory in North Staffordshire. The stamp allows us to date these plates to the years 1850-1860. The indented mark Indian Stone China indicates that these plates contain China stone which is a fine clay used in ceramics. The store in which they were sold, depot 17 rue Drouot, was the first depot of Emile Bourgeois. Given their long journey through time, these plates are in very good condition with a refined patina. It is just to note chips and marks of time; some plates have slight cracks. Details are in the photos that accompany this description.
