Description
Geneviève claisse is a french painter born in 1935. Niece of the famous artist auguste herbin, she feels plastic creation as a need to “recreate the world in the face of the inhuman coldness of the city”. In 1958, she exhibited her creations for the first time in paris (hybler gallery) and in cambrai (caille gallery). The following year she moved to paris. It was during this period that she began a collaboration with her uncle and shared her studio with him. Working in geometric abstraction, she pays particular attention to the purity of shapes and colors. Gc030311 there is no marking on this part.
