Description
This opaline glass tea set is a 70s jaj pyrex production from the wear glassworks manufacture in sunderland, england. This is the "autumn glory" model which was very popular with the british at the time of their sacrosanct "five o'clock". It is made up of 6 large flared cups with their saucers as well as a milk jug. The screen-printed pattern depicts yellow, orange and white dahlias. The contrast with the opaline white is very pretty. The composition of the flowers is soft and rustic. It perfectly illustrates the name of the model by evoking the melancholic side and the beautiful colors of autumn. The whole thing is in very good condition. It only has a small, very discreet defect on the edge of one saucer and a slightly faded orange dahlia on another saucer (see photos). Height: 7 cm diameter: 8.5 cm saucer: 16.5 cm milk jug: 8.5 cm weight: 2.8 kg.
